TKA is coming up.
Currently busy with organizing the annual sale platform for designers.
TKA will take place on May 11, 12, and 13 in the van Gendthallen in Amsterdam.

TKA 2011

100% design
The new trademark eQ+ was launched with great success at the 100% design in Rotterdam.

eQ+
The manufacturing licences for 11 products were transferred to eQ+ at the end of May.
The TM collection and the PEPPER designed by Geke Lensink and Jesse Visser including the 50K table and Kitchenstool are being introduced under the label eQ+. Jesse and I have designed the Giraffe (high conference table) and the Monkey (stool]( for eQ+.
eQ+ is a brand new trademark with ancient values, comfort, atmosphere and responsibility.
The goal is to develop a collection for the project market where emotion, function in combination with honest and durable materials are the +.
We (Jesse and I) are unbelievably proud of this teamwork which is unique to say the least.

TKA
In the weekend of 20, 21 and 22nd May I organised, together with Helen van Ruiten and Peter Kester from Galerie Binnen : TKA (offered for sale).
Forty designers presented their prototypes, show models, B choices and other surplus models for sale, with great success.

Blickfang Basel
Also Blickfang Basel was a joy to participate and an honor to be selected for this event throughout the year. One of my fellow selected designers @ Blickfang Basel was a young group of Swiss designers called A+C+E. Beautiful furniture and good thinking.

Milan
Also this year we were present at the Salone del Mobile but have no presentation. Plenty of (light]) wooden furniture, a lot of leaf and leg finishing’s, much attention paid to detail coming from production solutions.
Some inspiring presentations, one top presentation from Jan Willem Hofma with Serener. We will be back next year with a brandnew show en lots of new stuff.

Lots of fun with the other selected designers and one new selling point.

NEW SELLING POINTS PEPPER in Den Haag en Maastricht.

A dish of Sergio Hermans was photographed on a First collection plate. More of that in the new issue of Topkoks voor Thuiskoks (Top chefs for Home chefs). A cook book that supports a childrens food program in Malawi.

Pierre Berge & associés Auction House in Brussels.

Launch of the PEPPER at the Dutch Design Week in Eindhoven. PEPPER, to spice up your space! is a new product developed and designed in collaboration with Jesse Visser. This and mutch more to be seen in het Klokgebouw Strijp S.

The Dutch Design Week takes place from 23rd until 31st October. An annual event where everything is about design and imagination. This includes the Dutch Design Awards, the final-exam exposition of the Design Academy and many designers who will be promoting themselves at Strijp S in the Klokgebouw.

The 50K tablecloth and the 8K tablecloth are selected for an exhibition at Blickfang, a designers event in Vienna, Zurich, Stuttgart ,Basel and Tokyo.

The four curators, Stephen Burks, designer, readymadeproducts in New York, Pierre Keller, director of ecal, University of Art and Design in Lausanne, Matteo Kries, Head curator of Vitra Design Museum in Berlin and Dieter Hoffman, CEO, Blickfang have all selected one designer whose work will be exhibited in Blickfang.

Dutch Design Hotel Artemis shall be exhibiting the TM collection in the hotel lobby for 3 months starting on 2nd September until 24th November.
The beakers from the First collection series shall be on show and for sale.
The exhibition BLACK/WHITE is a combination of design and photography. The ‘grand opening’ was on 2nd September including a party with the most wonderful black/white snacks and small hors d’oeuvres.

After being exhibited at the Internationale Salone del Mobile in Milan, all of the furniture and products have been published in the [international] press.
Magazines, newspapers and many weblogs, among which;
L’Officiel which has selected many products by Geke Lensink and Jesse Visser for their annual edition of 1000 design objects.

Kunstwerk Loods 6
Geke Lensink has together with Jesse Visser, designed a new office for Kunstwerk Loods 6. This project has been published on the website of the magazine De Architect and will be published in the magazine PI [Project and Interior, pi-online.nl]
